Our Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer programme is designed to equip aspiring engineers with the essential knowledge and hands-on experience needed to excel in the aviation industry. This comprehensive programme includes 2,400 hours of theoretical and practical training conducted in CAAM-approved Part 147 and Part 145 environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Theoretical and Practical Skills Training: Students will undergo minimum of 2,400 hours extensive classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises, covering aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.

CAAM Examinations and Practical Assessments: Participants will be required to pass the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) exams and practical assessments to demonstrate their competence in aircraft maintenance.

On-the-Job Training (OJT): As part of the curriculum, students will complete 24 months OJT at MAB Engineering Services' hangar facilities, gaining real-world experience in aircraft maintenance under the supervision of certified professionals.

Graduates of the programme will be well-prepared to pursue a career as licensed aircraft maintenance technicians, meeting the technical and regulatory requirements needed to maintain the safety and airworthiness of modern aircraft.

Career Opportunity

Upon completing the Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer programme, participants will unlock a range of career opportunities in the aviation industry. Towards the end of the programme, successful candidates will be: Granted a Category B1.1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License by CAAM: Participants will be equipped with sufficient knowledge, experience, competence and skill on aircraft maintenance. Granted a Malaysia Skill Diploma Level 4 by DSD: This certification is a diploma-level qualification that allows individuals to perform Aircraft Maintenance Operation tasks. Eligible for Aircraft Type Rating Course: Participants can opt to enrol in an Aircraft Type Rating course specific to the aircraft type with respective engine rating. This specialized training enables them to work on aircraft types, further expanding their expertise and marketability. Type Rating Endorsement: Upon completion of the type rating course, participants eligible for endorsement on their Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, certifying them to maintain and release respective aircraft for service (if related). These qualifications open doors to advanced positions within airlines, maintenance organisations, and aviation companies, providing clear pathways for career growth and professional development in the global aviation sector. 

Entry Requirements To qualify for the Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technicians Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria: Educational Qualifications: Open to post-SPM, O-Level, post-Foundation, post-Certificate, post-Diploma, or bachelor’s degree students. Applicants should have​:​ SPM or equivalent qualification with a minimum grade B in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematics, and Physics/Science OR A Diploma/Degree, preferably in technical fields. Age Requirement: Minimum age of 17 years old. Health Standards: Applicants must be physically and mentally fit, not colour blind, and free from chronic illnesses. Admission Assessment: All applicants are required to undergo an admission assessment, which includes an Aptitude Test and an Interview. Successful performance in these assessments is necessary for acceptance into the programme.
